Because of the extremely adverse conditions under which this equipment must
operate, special care should be taken in maintaining it.
- Always cover the equipment when not in use.
- All moving parts inside the receiver and Breech block should be cleaned
periodically with a non-petroleum solvent to remove dirt. We recommend a silicon
lubricant. Do not oil any exterior parts since oil will attract dirt.
- After each shooting, the shell chamber should be cleaned using non-petroleum
based solvent and Chamber Cleaning Brush #R003. The Chamber Cleaning Brush is
provided with every Mark IV. The #R003 Chamber Cleaning Brush can be ordered
separately or is provided in the #R499A Cleaning Kit.
*NOTE: Portable shooting stands are not furnished by Winchester. Customer may
obtain technical drawings by ordering form E-3-5/86.
